The Vision for a Nourished South Africa

Introduction
When COVID19 hit, we recognized an alarming trend of a vast number of families, countrywide, who are finding themselves moving further and further into poverty. These were not just the traditional poverty regions, but the typical middle-class resident.
With unemployment on the rise in South Africa we are facing more and more children in our communities suffering intense hunger and malnutrition.
It has been our vision to address the severe shortages of nutritional foods to the most vulnerable. We believe that access to nutritious meals is a fundamental right and have committed ourselves to making this a reality for as many people as possible.
In the face of escalating poverty and hunger in South Africa, one innovative solution is making waves – the Food Sock. Better Living Foundation partnered with Food Sock, which is more than just a meal—it’s a revolution in addressing food scarcity and malnutrition.
In a world where convenience often compromises quality, Food Sock offers both. Every serving is crafted to provide a balanced diet, ensuring that taste never comes at the expense of health.
Developed with the assistance of culinary masters like Chef Francois Ferreira and celebrity Chef Nataniël, Food Sock offers an assortment of eight unique flavours i.e. Mutton Stew, Chicken Pasta, Chicken Breyani, Tomato bredie, Pasta Bolognese, Chakalaka Samp & beans, Macaroni & Cheese & Melkos. Nutrient-rich, easy-to-prepare meals that cater to the diverse dietary needs of our communities.
Community Impact
Under the banner of our non-profit organization, Better Living Foundation, meals are provided to the poorest in our communities. Financial donations are encouraged for this purpose – a family of 4 can be given a meal every day of the week, for a month, for only R1500 a month.
